Hampton City School District (VA) recently started using business intelligence (BI) software from Noetix Corp. to give technical analysts and other administrators the ability to locate data required to create BI reports more easily.

With 23 elementary, six middle and four high schools, the number of reports required to support the district’s decision making is high. The district’s IS department consists solely of 12 people, so Hampton City searched for a complementary solution they could use with the Oracle Disoverer E-Business Suite to give users ad hoc reporting capabilities.

 Noetix labels tables in familiar business terms, and the software has helped Hampton City Schools save much of the IS department’s time needed to deliver reports to the district. The software has also helped the school easily create views for state and federal reporting, which previously took a long time.
