Minnesota Online High School delivers virtual PCs
May 20,2009

The Minnesota Online High School (MNOHS) has selected SIMtone to deliver virtual PC environments to students and faculty as part of its Education Thunder Program. The program aims to provide access to full PCs in the cloud to the people who cannot afford them, without requiring them to own a computer.

MNOHS is a public, state-funded school that is open to any MN resident age 20 or younger. It offers a comprehensive high school curriculum and college preparation courses to students in grades 10-12.

The school will be using SIMtone’s Universal Cloud Computing Platform, which simplifies the delivery of virtual desktops and other cloud services to users across an array of endpoint devices. Students will have a fully-functional computer environment without needing to own their own computer; the platform enables simple access to PCs hosted in the cloud, so students can use it anywhere that has a broadband connection.
