ROI in Less than One Year with Systems Software
October 18,2009

Academy School District 20 of Colorado Springs serves 22,000 students and is one of the largest and oldest school districts in Colorado. Because of the district's location, fast-growing city and large physical layout, ASD20's IT staff, in charge of managing 30 servers and more than 8,000 computers, found that its imaging, license tracking and help desk processes were unable to properly manage the district's evolving systems.

Instead of hiring more employees, the IT staff sought a solution that could work with the existing infrastructure. The IT team chose KBOX, an appliance systems management provided by KACE, to manage the district's 8,000 computers system networks. Training for the entire staff took less than one week.

"Our KBOX has surprised us not only with its simplicity and ease-of-use, but also the breadth of management capabilities it offers," said Shelley Kooser, CIO of Academy School District 20. "The technology has helped us to improve and speed up our overall desktop management operation."

The IT department estimates it has saved more than 15,238 hours annually. What's more, it took less than one year to achieve a complete return on investment.

"We estimate purchasing the KBOX has saved our department thousands of hours spent on maintenance tasks leading to impressive dollar savings the first year alone," added Kooser.
